What You Will Do

• Write a paragraph showing the difference between an I-You and an I-It relationship.
• Write a paragraph about whether President Johnson treated Black people with dignity.
• Write a paragraph explaining how you will treat others with respect.

Other Ways to Show Learning

• During class, talk about what it means to treat someone like an “It” or a “You.”
• Make sure you understand that treating someone like an “It” takes away their dignity.
